Комплект прописей состоит из четырёх тетрадей и является составной частью учебно-методического комплекса "Русский язык: от ступени к ступени", включающего пособия по обучению, чтению и письму, основам грамматики, развитию речи. В тетрадях по письму представлена система заданий, нацеленных на формирование у учащихся графических, каллиграфических и орфографических навыков.
